Ensuring Optimal Results

Before embarking on your transformative journey at LAVENDER MEDI SPA, it’s essential to familiarize yourself with our comprehensive before and after treatment instructions. These guidelines are thoughtfully curated to ensure optimal results and a seamless experience. Prior to your appointment, we recommend refraining from certain activities, medications, or skincare routines that may affect the effectiveness of your chosen treatment. This proactive approach sets the stage for success. Following your treatment, our meticulous aftercare instructions provide essential guidance on post-procedural care, including skincare routines, activity restrictions, and any necessary follow-up appointments. At LAVENDER MEDI SPA, our commitment to your well-being extends beyond the treatment room, and by adhering to these guidelines, you’ll be maximizing the benefits of our services, leaving you with lasting results that enhance both your appearance and overall sense of wellness.

  • To help avoid or minimize bruising, avoid alcohol, smoking, and caffeine 24 hours prior as well as certain medications/vitamins such as aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Nuprin, Aleve, Celebrex, Fish oil, Ginko Biloba, St. John’s Wort and high doses of vitamin E 7 days prior to procedure. This is not required but is recommended to minimize bruising. Your regular multivitamin and Tylenol is ok.
  • *Filler only* If you have any history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face, make sure you inform us 1 week prior to your appointment; this will allow us adequate time to prescribe a preventive antiviral medication to help prevent an outbreak.
  • * Filler only* Avoid dental procedures (including cleaning) 2 weeks pre and post.
  • Plan your treatment 2 weeks in advance of any special events to allow for bruising and the full effect of treatment prior to your event.
  • You may gently apply or remove makeup immediately following your treatment. Avoid laying down, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas for at least 4 hours.
  • Avoid facials, exercise, saunas, hot tubs, intense sunlight, or sweaty activities on the day of treatment.
  • Bruising can occur even if before treatment instructions were followed, this is temporary. Any tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few hours of treatment.
  • Full effect of your treatment takes up to 14 days but usually, patients start to notice a change as early as 3-5 days afterwards. It takes time for the muscles to lose strength and the lines to fade following your treatment. Please wait until 14 days have passed before assessing if you are pleased with the results and any touch can be done after this timeframe.
  • Neurotoxin is a temporary procedure and your treatment results on average will last approximately 3-4 months.
  • *Filler* Applying a cold compress to the treated area can help reduce swelling. Use it intermittently for the first 24 hours. We also recommend avoiding flying on an airplane for 1 week afterward as the air pressure and altitude can exacerbate or produce swelling.
  • You may opt to take an Arinca tablet or apply Arinca gel as needed for up to 2 weeks post-treatment to assist with bruising. * Filler* May take over-the-counter antihistamines such as Zyrtec or Claritin daily to minimize swelling.
  • If you are taking prescription blood thinners such as Coumadin or Plavix, you should check with the prescribing doctor to see if you are able to stop these medicines for 5-7 days before your appointment.
  • If you have any history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face, make sure you inform us 1 week prior to your appointment; this will allow us adequate time to prescribe a preventive antiviral medication to help prevent an outbreak.
  • Avoid procedures if you are currently suffering from any infection or illness.
  • Come to your appointment with a clean face no make-up. No worries, if you forget this step-we’ll cleanse your face when you get here.
  • Plan your treatment at least 2 weeks prior to events and avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks.
  • *Hair restoration* Wash your hair very thoroughly using your regular shampoo and avoid sprays, gels, or any other styling products for your hair.
  • Do NOT wash, touch, press, rub, manipulate, or apply makeup to the treated area(s) for the rest of the day after your treatment. It is normal to experience: bruising, redness, itching, soreness, and swelling for 1-3 days after the procedure. Mild peeling may occur a few days after treatment.
  • Keep the area clean and gently wash your face with mild cleanser the following day or 8 hours after treatment. Avoid active ingredient skincare routine for at least a week after. *Hair restoration* Avoid washing your hair immediately: Refrain from washing your hair for the first 24 hours post-treatment to allow the PRP to be absorbed properly. When you do start washing your hair again, use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo to avoid any harsh chemicals that might irritate your scalp. Refrain from using styling products, hair sprays, or other chemicals on your scalp for a few days after the procedure. Avoid resuming Minoxidil (Formula 82M, Rogaine®), hair coloring, and straightening for 3 days.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks and always use sunscreen SPF 30 or greater when outside.
  • AVOID Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve (all non-steroidal and steroidal anti-inflammatory agents). Remember, we are creating inflammation to initiate the rebuilding and repair process. You may apply ice as needed for comfort after the procedure, but keep in mind this also limits the necessary inflammatory process.
  • If you experience discomfort or pain, you may take Tylenol or other Acetaminophen products as long as no allergy.
  • Refrain from strenuous physical activities, saunas, or steam rooms for 24-48 hours to minimize swelling or complications.
  • AVOID: Alcohol, caffeine, and cigarettes for 24 hours after your treatment.
  • Smoking impairs healing times therefore increases the chances of complications and reduces the effectiveness of treatment.
  • Maintain a healthy diet and stay well hydrated (drink at least 64 oz.’s of water).
  • Please discontinue products containing any exfoliating agents (retinoic acid, tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, astringents, etc.) at least 72 hours before treatment.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure/UV tanning 1 week prior.
  • Refrain from waxing or using hair removal creams on the face for at least 1 week before.
  • If you have any history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face, make sure you inform us 1 week prior to your appointment; this will allow us adequate time to prescribe a preventive antiviral medication to help prevent an outbreak.
  • Your provider will recommend appropriate products to help enhance results and/or minimize potential side effects.
  • Recommend avoiding Accutane (Isotretinoin) is an oral acne medication for six months as this can significantly affect the skin’s sensitivity and healing processes.
  • You may experience slight redness and swelling, which should resolve within 24 hours.
  • Use mild, non-irritating skincare products for a few days after dermaplaning. Avoid products with harsh chemicals or strong active ingredients.
  • Refrain from using abrasive scrubs or exfoliating products for about a week after dermaplaning to avoid irritation.
  • Avoid hot showers, saunas, or activities that may cause excessive sweating for a day or two after the treatment.
  • Keep the skin well-hydrated by using a gentle and hydrating moisturizer. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to protect the freshly revealed skin from sun damage. We encourage you to use your sunscreen daily.
  • Do not apply Retin-A, Renova, Tazorac, and/or Differin 2 weeks before and after.
  • Do not sun tan or use the tanning bed 2-4 weeks prior to and 2-4 weeks after your treatment.
  • Stop any type of depilatory treatments (waxing, hair removal creams) to the area of treatment 2 week before and after.
  • Avoid laser treatments (laser hair removal, IPL) to the area of treatment, 2-4 weeks before and after.
  • Clients may have tightness and smoothness immediately post-peel.
  • When cleansing, do not scrub. Use a gentle cleanser. Avoid using abrasive scrubs or exfoliating products for a specified period after the peel, as the skin is in a delicate state.
  • With any peel, your skin may start to peel 1-3 days after the peel and continue to peel for 2-5 more days; however, it is also possible your skin may not peel at all.
  • Do not peel, pick, or scratch the treated area, as this may result in scarring.
  • Keep the skin well-hydrated by using a gentle and hydrating moisturizer. Can use your moisturizer or Aquaphor to dry flaky areas.
  • Do not have any other facial treatments for at least 2 weeks after your peel or until the skin is smooth and back to normal.

  • Do not put makeup on when coming for the treatment.
  • Have a light breakfast.
  • Avoid Caffeine or Alcohol 24 hours prior to minimize bruising.
  • Avoid NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, Naprosyn, BC powder, Etc) 7 days prior to minimize bruising.
  • No dental work 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after thread placement.
  • If you have an upper respiratory infection, sinus infection, acne break out, an infection of the skin or any other illness at the time of your appointment, your treatment will need to be rescheduled.
  • Immediately after the treatment, there may be redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and/or itching near the injection site. Leave spot bandaids on for 24 hours. Avoid touching, rubbing, picking, or manipulating the injected area(s) for 12 hours after your treatment.

  • Refrain from applying make-up for a minimum of 24 hours.

  • Sleep on your back for the first few nights to relieve pressure on the treatment area(s).
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and cigarettes for 24-48 hours before and after treatment as they may contribute to increased swelling or irritation.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise, sun, and heat exposure for 3 days afterward. (i.e., sunbathing or tanning bed).
  • Always use an SPF 30 or higher containing zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide for proper sun protection.
  • Do not apply potentially irritating products for 2 days after (e.g. tretinoin, Retin-A, glycolic acid, benzoyl, hydroquinone).
  • Refrain from applying make-up for a minimum of 24 hours.
  • Avoid blood thinning or NSAID medications, vitamins, and supplements (unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor) for 1 week after.

  • Avoid cosmetic treatments such as laser, ultrasound, peels, facials, or microdermabrasion for 2-4 weeks after.
  • It is common to feel “firmness” in the treated area(s) after the first few days and weeks of the procedure. Over time, the area(s) will soften and “settle”, leaving you with a soft, natural-looking result.

To achieve the best results and minimize any potential risks, please follow these pre-treatment instructions before your brow tinting appointment:

  1. Avoid Tweezing, Waxing, or Threading:
    • Do not tweeze, wax, or thread your eyebrows for at least 48 hours before your appointment. This allows the tint to adhere more effectively to your brow hairs.
  2. Clean Brows:
    • Ensure your eyebrows are clean and free from makeup, lotions, oils, and any other products on the day of your appointment. This ensures better absorption of the tint.
  3. Avoid Exfoliation:
    • Do not use exfoliating products or treatments on the brow area for at least 48 hours before your appointment. This includes chemical exfoliants like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs).
  4. Skip Retinoids:
    • Avoid using retinoids, Retin-A, or other strong anti-aging products around the brow area for at least 7 days before your appointment. These products can make the skin more sensitive.
  5. No Sun Exposure:
    • Avoid prolonged sun exposure or tanning beds for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Sunburned skin can be more sensitive and may not respond well to the tint.
  6. Avoid Using Oils:
    • Refrain from using oil-based skincare or makeup products on or around your eyebrows for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Oils can create a barrier that prevents the tint from properly adhering to the brow hairs.
  7. Health Considerations:
    • If you have any skin conditions, allergies, or are currently using medications that affect your skin (such as Accutane or steroids), please inform your technician prior to your appointment.
  8. Patch Test:
    • If this is your first time getting a brow tint or if you have sensitive skin, consider requesting a patch test 24-48 hours before your appointment to check for any adverse reactions to the tint.
  9. Relax and Prepare:
    • Plan to arrive at your appointment relaxed and with plenty of time. Being stressed or rushed can affect your overall experience and the results.

By following these pre-treatment instructions, you can help ensure the best possible outcome for your brow tinting session. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us prior to your appointment.

Proper aftercare is important for maintaining the results of your brow lamination procedure, which typically lasts between 4-6 weeks.

  • Do not wet the eyelashes or eyebrows for at least 24 hours after the treatment.
  • Avoid hot baths/showers, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pools for 24 hours.
  • Refrain from wearing eye makeup for 12 hours and use oil-free makeup remover when necessary.
  • Avoid touching or rubbing the eye or eyebrow area to prevent irritation.
  • Limit exposure to direct sunlight to avoid weakening the perm effect and fading the tint color.
  • Avoid using chlorine and certain skincare products, as they may shorten the effects of the perm and tints.

To ensure the best results from your lash lift and tint appointment, please follow these guidelines:

  1. Arrive with clean, makeup-free eyes and lashes.
    • No mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, or eye creams.
    • Avoid waterproof mascara for at least 48 hours before your appointment, as it leaves a film on the lashes that can interfere with the lift and tint.
  2. Remove contact lenses.
    • Please wear glasses or bring a case and solution to store your lenses during the appointment.
  3. Avoid caffeine.
    • Caffeine can cause your eyes to flutter, making the application process more difficult and less effective.
  4. Avoid heavy creams or oils around your eyes for 24 hours.
    • Oils can create a barrier on your lashes and prevent proper product absorption.
  5. Avoid using lash serums the day of your appointment.
    • These can increase lash sensitivity and affect processing.
  6. Reschedule if you have any eye irritation or active infection.
    • Your comfort and safety are our top priorities.

Pro Tip: If you have a special event, book your lash lift and tint at least 2–3 days in advance to allow any minor redness or skin sensitivity to settle.

Helpful Tips for Your Weight Loss Journey with Semaglutide or Tirzepatide

At Lavender Medi Spa, we want you to feel empowered and supported every step of the way! Here are some important tips to help you succeed while on your medical weight loss plan:

  • Aim for at least 64 oz of water daily—more if you’re active or live in a warm climate.
  • Staying hydrated can reduce nausea, improve digestion, and support fat metabolism.
  • Avoid sugary drinks, sodas, and energy drinks—stick to water, herbal teas, or electrolyte mixes without added sugar.
  • Make protein the star of your meals. Aim for 1-1.2 grams/Kg of weight per day, depending on your body size and activity level.
  • Protein helps you maintain lean muscle, feel full longer, and supports metabolism.
  • Great options: grilled chicken, eggs, Greek yogurt, lean beef, tofu, fish, protein shakes
  • Alcohol can interfere with blood sugar regulation and reduce medication effectiveness.
  • It may also increase nausea or GI upset while on semaglutide or tirzepatide.
  • Limit or avoid alcohol to get the best results and feel your best.
  • Aim for at least 150 minutes per week of moderate activity (like brisk walking, biking, swimming, strength training).
  • Exercise helps preserve lean mass, supports mental health, and enhances long-term fat loss.
  • Start slow and build up—consistency is more important than intensity.
  • Eat slowly, chew thoroughly, and stop when satisfied—not stuffed.
  • Because these medications slow gastric emptying, eating too fast may lead to discomfort or nausea.

  • If you miss a dose, follow your provider’s instructions and do not double up.
  • Report any side effects like nausea, constipation, or fatigue so we can support you with adjustments or supplements.
